AIA Vitality Men's Women's Health Night Run-Johor

A week ago on 7th January 2016, we went to Johor merely because we joined the AIA vitality MWH Night Run which is held at Puteri Harbour, Johor Bahru.

It was a free registration because hubby won 2 free pass from IG contest. My 1st running event without any training, not even walking or jogging for the past 3 months,LOL!

The event can be considered as a fun one because there a lots of activities you can try out at the event site but suprisingly only few hundreds runners at this event.

Overall to me it was a smooth and enjoyable running event; ood numbers of portable toilets, enough water stations, generous goodie bag, good medal design and scenery running route as well. Not forget to mention their amazing volunteer and supporting team!

Time Heals?

10 years since my father passed away yet all the memories I had with him still blooming in my heart and mind. Those memories keep me strong in the midst of my longing heart of him.

I try to look strong yet sometimes I isolated myself in my room, crying my heart out when I couldn't stand the pain of missing him. The longing intensified when I have some matters that I can only confide in him because I don't know to whom I can turn to... In the end I confide to Allah, knowing that my father will listen to it too.

Time heals? Yeah, maybe but I knew my heart will never whole again because part of me died the day my father passed away. Like the past years, on this day I give in to my longing for you, crying out all those negative feeling so that tomorrow I will wake up to face the world with new determination.

Rest in peace my beloved bapa. I know you are always watching over me from up there..

Another Year Wiser

Assalamualaikum.

Alhamdulillah, it's a blessing being alive on my 34th birthday and I am profoundly grateful that Allah bestow me good health to live and continue my journey to become a better being.

I honestly don't want much in life. Having a simple and moderate life together with my beloved family without worrying about financial problem is enough for me. But I think there nothing wrong to keep all of those childhood dreams of mine as a motivation to myself for a better life :p

Barbeque + Picnic At Sg Congkak

Assalamualaikum.

Picnic has been our family trademark activity for the past few years now. It's cheap, hassle-free yet my kiddos love it so much. They said, "macam di kampung."

Last Sunday, we went to Sg Congkak again and for the 1st time we have barbeque lunch instead of pre-packed home food and make use of those mini barbeque/grill set that we bought months ago. Lama jadi perhiasan di rumah, hahaha!

As usual, the clean, shallow stream just perfect for the kids to play and swim without worrying about any danger. But still, we're cautious of our surrounding. I noticed that they upgraded the spot where we usually went. There are chalets and huts available for rent now. The fee is still the same; RM5/parking. We spent few hours here and left when we noticed the gloomy sky.

I am glad that my kids like this kind of activity because I don't want them to become one of those city kids who feel uncomfortable with nature, making 'ewww' , 'eii' etc sound whenever they surround with nature and preferring swimming pool over the adventurous river, hehehe. Mandi sungai lagi best dari mandi kolam air berklorin hokey, LOL!

Our favorite spot
Semangat berbbq!

Eldest Son 14th Birthday

Assalamualaikum.

Alhamdulillah, my eldest son turned 14 today. Still unable to grasp the reality of how times flies. Not long ago, he have to look up to see my eyes or I have too squat down to meet his eye, but now he is taller and bigger than me that I am the one who need to look up to meet his eyes..

I misses those times when he was still a baby, a toddler and a boy where I am his only world; to whom he report everything he did. Yeah, even the silliest and nonsense stuff, LOL! I noticed that ever since he started secondary school, those report become less and less. He still talked about stuffs to me but not as detail as before, hurmm..

Oh crap, I always feel a bit emotional on my kids birthday because it remind me that soon they no longer dependent on me, that they soon will stand they own ground.

Dear my beloved eldest son, never once I regret my decision to keep you and gave birth of you. Having you taught me to be strong in any ordeal and to keep my head up when people looked down at me. Happy birthday dear son! Mama will always by your side and will always pray for your happiness here and hereafter.

To Allah I confide

Assalamualaikum...

The title of this post define what I feel at the moment. Before my father passed away, he is my personal 'confession box' to whom I confide and confess everything beside the Almighty God. He is indeed the best human listener who never spit out a words to anyone. He keep his promise to the grave and that's why part of life gone with him. After he passed away, I turned to few persons but still have this doubt lingering in my mind. After all, we are just human being who easily stray and give in to our weakness, hmmm.

Nowadays, I preferred to confess and confide only to Allah because I am 100% sure that Allah will never betray me. Allah won't talk behind me. Allah will listen to me with no prejudice. Praying and confiding to Allah give me sense of peace and serenity.

Salam Aidilfitri 2016

Assalamualaikum..

Alhamdulillah, it's 1st Syawal! I am grateful because Allah gave me a chance to be alive and breathing on this beautiful days of Syawal and be together with my beloved small family to celebrate it.

The theme for this year is yellowish GREEN for male & banana leaf GREEN (eh, betul ka tu?) for female. My sons' and hubby's baju melayu was bought from KawanMU apparel shop, nearby our place and my daughter and mine bought from Gene Martino boutiqe in Subang Jaya. Daugther's and mine baju kurung I considered a bit expensive but total cost still within my budget.

We are heading to my FIL place 1st before visiting hubby's grandma (his father side) grave. Then to my MIL place where hubby's sibling gathered before heading to Klang, visiting hubby's relatives and friends then nenek's grave. (InShaAllah, will share a bit here and there about it later in other post with pics)

I am taking this opportunity to wish all my muslim families, relatives & friends a blessed and meaningful Syawal. Let forgive and forget, be kind and be grateful for everything we have & don't have.

SELAMAT HARI RAYA, MAAF ZAHIR BATIN..

Happy 12th Birthday, Daniel!

Assalamualaikum...

Alhamdulillah, my 2nd son is 12 years today. I can't believe that he is in his early teenager and no longer my baby boy. I still remember the incident during his birth at Hospital Kajang where he was almost exchanged with other parent's baby. Luckily I noticed that he looked strange and unfamiliar when the nurse passed him to me to be breastfeed. I checked the hospital tag to found out that the baby wasn't him! He was still warded inside the incubator at that time due to skin infection.

Even his placenta was given to other parent and later I found out that those parent has handle the placenta accordingly together with their baby's placenta. They said they couldn't distinguished which one was theirs so they buried both in 1 place. I was grateful to them for that.

When he was almost a year old, I have to send him back to my parent in Sabah because I needed to stay back late in UKM to complete my final year project. Though it was only for a year, the guilt of leaving him behind still haunting me. I feel like I sacrificed him for our future. The misery of missing him leave a deep scar in my life.

Now at 12 years, he is my 2nd helper at home beside his elder brother. He have lots of flaw but those flaws were his strength that shaped his personality. He is my favorite gumuks yang kuat makan, lol!

Dear Daniel,
Happy 12th birthday Nak! May you grow up to be a soleh son here and hereafter. Mama love you to the moon and back! Stay healthy!

Youngest Son 7th Birthday

Assalamualaikum..

Today is my youngest son (Ilyas) 7th birthday. Like past year, we only have a mini family celebration for him. This year,  Ilyas asked me to have pizzas party and granted, since it was within my budget. Cake was bought from our favorite Japanese cake house, RT pastry. We never get bored with their super yummy cakes!

Among my kids, Ilyas is a bit too attached to me and to his papa as well. He annoyed me most of time with his mischief and naughtiness but I couldn't bring myself to get mad at him because in the end, all of those mischief and naughtiness make us laugh. Biasa la budak-budak kan, hehe!

Dear Ilyas,
Happy 7th birthday baby! May you grow up to become a soleh son here and hereafter. May Allah will always guide and bless you with happiness. I love you to the moon and back!

ENGINEERS FOR MAKNA RUN 2016

Started off my running event for year 2016 by participating Engineers For MAKNA run on 17th January at University Tenaga Nasional. This event was organized by the Engineering students of Uniten to help collecting dana for MAKNA.

This event is the simplest running event I have participated so far. There are no grand start/finish point but a simple handmade banner with 'start' and 'finish' word. No bib and No timing chip. Runners must collect all 7 token (rubber band) at 7 point in order to claim a medal and certificate. Many runners whine because the organizer didn't provide bib with timing chip but to me it's okay. I like the idea of collecting token because it remind me of the old times.

Humble, handmade starting point
The 7 token :)
The run start off at 8am, bit late from the schedule (should be at 7.15am) because have to wait for the VVIP to arrive and police to stand by along the route to take care of the traffic. I managed to cross the finish line within my targeted time (below 90min). I enjoyed running and walking along the route without worrying about safety. Honestly this event is more safer than the Ice Light Up The Night Run because there were lots of volunteer and police along the route (outside Uniten area). I give the organizer 2 thumbs up for that. Finisher medal were given to all 12KM runners who able to present all 7 token at the finish line together with paper certificate. The medal is okay (at least for me) since it's made from die cast.

Lots of runners posting negative review on the organizer FB page just because the event started late and also the lack of bib (with timing chip) but I left a praising comment to them because to me they are doing a good deeds. They are students who might struggling with campus life yet they still manage to pull off such event to raise fund for MAKNA. Instead of lashing out them, we should give them room for improvement.

That's bit of the 1st running event for year 2016 and hopefully more to come, In Sha Allah..

Youngest Son 1st Day At Primary School

Believe or not, it's last day of 2015 and my youngest son happened to have his orientation day on this day. He is excited but I am not because I feel like not wanting him to grow up so fast (*sobs). Moreover, I am worried because he seem too small and frail for his age although he is one active boy. He is a shy boy so I hope he will able to adapt with the new learning environment and expand his social skills.

Year 2015 will be soon become a past and I will treasure every single memory especially those moments I spent with my kids. That's the end of my ramblings for year 2015. Until next year, Happy New Year 2016!

Food Hunting At Muar, Johor

hunting is one of my favorite activity just because I love foods and my tummy constantly hungry all the time, hahaha!

Last week during Christmas holiday, we joined MIL to stay at Muar for 2D1N to chillax and hunts for Muar delicacies since we have no plan for the long weekend. Kiddos was excited because they will able to meet their cousins (from hubby side).

It took approximFood ately about an hour and 45min drive from Puchong to Muar and our 1st stop is Tanjung Emas Food Court where we have yummy asam pedas for lunch and refreshing ABC for dessert. 3 kali minta nasi tambah sebab finger licking good ba tu asam pedas!

After lunch, we went to Nur Hawa Homestay which located at Sungai Abong, Muar. It's a spacious house with 6 rooms (2 equipped with A/C, the others with fans and A/C at living room) and 3 bathroom. BIL booked this homestay at discounted rates of RM250/night because he is local. Normal price is RM380/night hokey! Kira harga kasih sayang untuk orang2 asal sungai Abong ler..

After checked in, we went to the stall in front of the homestay; duduk lepak-lepak mengeteh sambil makan pisang goreng  while waiting for the others to arrive. I can say that we were just ate and ate and ate the whole afternoon because there are many food stall nearby the homestay!

After Maghrib, we went to Medan Ikan Bakar Sabak Awor, our main purpose of spending a night at Muar. There were 17 of us and we ordered 5 L size crabs, 1kg of kupang, 6 M size ikan kembungs, 5 L size ikan tongkol, 1.3kg prawns, 2 M size siakap, 3 plates of mixed veges, 3 jug of beverage and 4 pot of rice that costed us RM280. Very cheap isn't it? If we have that in Puchong, it might cost more than RM350!  Medan Ikan bakar Sabak Awok always packed with customer so it's better to come early because you might have to wait for vacant table.

The next day, we went to Sai Kee Kopi 434 but unfortunately it's full and there were peoples waiting for their turn to be seated so we cancelled our plan to have a drink there and went to try the so called Mee Bandung Udang Muo Ori. I am not fan of mee bandung but this one taste so good man! RM12/plate but worth it and don't forget the big glass of air bandung soda, slurpp!

Jalan-jalan cari makan definitely is my thing. Hubby, lets do it again! Lol!

Picnic At Sungai Kemensah

My eldest son said, "ma, tak payah pergi cuti mahal-mahal. Bawa kami pergi picnic mandi sungai lagi best. Jimat, tak membazir duit" A very mature and considerate words from my 13years old son. Dang it, tiba-tiba mata masuk habuk pula...

Oh well, couldn't say more since he is totally correct. Why spending $$$ money when we can have fun and quality time with our family with just $$. So 2 weeks ago we went to picnic at Kemensah River which located at Kampung Kemensah Ampang, nearby Zoo Negara. I just found out about this picnic tho, lol!

We drove off from Puchong at 8am and arrived there around 8.45am and managed to secure a strategic picnic spot with Celi Chalet/Campsite with RM15 fee. Yep, it's not free like Sungai Congkak but it's okay because unlike Sungai Congkak, the area is clean, well maintain and necessity such as toilet and changing room with shower are provided. There are huts and chalets priced between RM20-RM120 for those who want to stay overnight. Oh ya, they also provided Bbq equipment with reasonable price or you can make you own bbq table, ngehehe!

huts and chalets
We played and soaked in the water for almost 2 hours before the coldness beat me off and forced my youngest son and me to retreat and changed into dry clothes. Orang keding cepat kesejukan ba. By the time we were about to drove off back home, the place is starting to get super-crowded. Luckily we were early or else I might not able to join hubby and kiddos in the water since I tend to feel awkward and uncomfortable with crowd of people who normally 'stare', pheww!

breakfast at river side
we were freezing!
soaking like a hippopotamus, lol!
Compulsary wefie!
Hubby said, next time will set our 'date' here so that we can try those ATV ride adventure that they offered there (*finger crossed). Only adult aged 18yrs above allowed to ride ATV, so can't bring kiddos next time.

posing pun jadilah..hahaha!
Overall, it was one of our cheap but fun picnic trip for our family and I don't mind repeating it over and over again because it's one of method of exposing the kids to love nature.

ICE LIGHT UP THE NIGHT RUN

Just and me joined Ice Light Up The Night Run on 5th Dec at Plaza Shah Alam. This was my last running event for year 2015. I joined it just because I need a night run, plus the finisher medal is looking nice, hehehe!

With fees that I considered quite expensive for 10km run, I expected that the organizer will provided bib with timing chip but unfortunately there was no timing chip, grrrr! However I am glad that no timing chip for this run because I can accompany my running buddy; Just without thinking of my finish time. It took almost 2 hours for us to crossed the finish line since we walk most of it. Yang penting sampai & dapat medal juga kan, hehehe!

Regarding the event itself; in my opinion, the worst event I have ever joined. Don't get me wrong, since I do like the challenging routes but the lack of volunteers and police involvement to take care of the traffic that forced runners to fend for themselves at some congestive area, it can turn into nightmares. Organizer should pay attention to this matter since it involve with runner safety. The running shirt by Ultron is superb quality but I don't fancy the vibrant Orange color tho and thumbs up for the medal design!

Not much to share about this event but I am happy because at last I fulfill my promise to run/walk along with my friend. Haven't register for any future run yet but I will definitely fill year 2016 with few running events and aiming to tick off another thing- to-do from my list, ngehehe!

Fit Malaysia Run 2015

After twice disappointment over cancelled running event, my hubby and I participated in Fit Malaysia Run (Selangor) 2015 which held at Dataran Dewan MPPJ on 15th November. Well, I feel kind of compulsary joining this event since it offer medal and certififcate(paper cert) for all participant without any fee hokey! Terubat juga rindu belusiran, ngehehe!

Hubby and me was late because of closed road and parking space problem. We have to park somewhere at residency area about 1km from the starting point. Luckily 10KM was gunned off a bit late from initial proposed time i.e at 8am, 30min later than stated starting time(should be at 7.30am).

10km route was kind of challenging; hilly, narrow lane with 2 water station but overall I enjoyed the run. The morning sun was awesome and I love it. I was running and walking with average pace 12min per miles and managed to cross the finish line within my target time. I was surprised that hubby crossed finish 20min after me because unlike me, he don't like physical activities. Good job, mister!

30min later, I saw Just & Lin crossed the finish line. Sempat juga bergambar-gambar before we parted way. It's been a while kan moi, Lin...Oh ya, still have 1 last running event for 2015 with them (*smile).

Pheww!! That's all for now. It's stale draft but glad that finally able to publish it.

Zero Run Medal: BSNPNM 2015

Another event cancelled again due to worst haze condition. Frustrated? Once is okay but twice in a row?? I am totally pissed off because I am anticipated this night run since it's going to be my night run of year 2015, grrrr!

BSN Putrajaya Night Marathon should be my 7th HM but it cancelled so it doesn't count anymore (*sob). Hurmmmm, I feel reluctant to join any future running event since nowadays haze problem from Indonesia is unpredictable and getting out of control.

Collected the finisher medal and all post-race entitlement with kiddos on the night the event should be on at Place of Justice Putrajaya. It was crowded there and some were doing  5km running before collecting their medal despite of the unhealthy haze. Took some pics then hurriedly went back home.

I was hibernating and haven't doing any LSD or jogging since the haze attacked last month and honestly I miss my evening jogs while waiting my daughter. Thankfully those nasty haze can't prevent me from doing yoga and simple cardio-workout at home to stay fit and healthy.

Okay, enough ramblings! Have a great days ahead everyone!

Zero-run medal!
Wefie!
