3R International Marathon 2015

Last sunday (19/04/2015), I ran my 3rd half marathon at Putrajaya during 3R International Marathon and managed to make it to the finish line within my targeted time (*huge smile).

I only have like 10min to warm up(warm up la sangat, hehehe) due to the long queue at the female toilet. It was no wonder because there only 3 toilet for like hundreds female participant and it was understandable when some of them (especially elders) used the OKU toilet. When I finished my 'business', masih panjang lagi tu barisan.  Hurmmm, very inconsiderate of the organizer!

They flag-off at 5.30am (very punctual huh) and this time I was in the middle of the crowd, jogging slowly (and turning on my runkeeper apps) while avoiding from getting bump/crush by the eager runner who were making their way to the front. For this event, I tried the method of running for 10-15min (in different pace) then brisk walking for 2-5min and keep that way till I reach the finish line.

Regarding of the event itself, to be honest this is the worst unorganized running event I have ever joined so far. Worst than my 1st half marathon during PJ Half Marathon 2014. There were a lot of flaw during this events:-
  1. Wrong distance marker/signboard - such a  killjoy when the signboard said 4km to go and I was pacing a bit fast only to find out (thru runkeeper) that there are still approximately 7KM to go. Grrr!
  2. Lack of medical aid - I was lucky because I did not have any injuries, not even ITBS but I saw runner with bleeding shoes who ask for plaster/bandage from the volunteer only to get "don't have" as an answer!! Same answer given for those who having muscle cramp when they ask for freeze/cold spray..Pity those injured and have to tend it themselves (*sigh)
  3. Slow response (volunteer/ medical) - this is complaint from mister who joined 10km (his 1st) who told me of watching one guy collapsed at the finish line and help (from volunteer/medical) only arrived after 5-10min. Luckily other runners were there to help...
  4. No goodie bag - well, when paying an expensive fee, we are expecting to get something (sponsored goods) aren't we? I paid RM80 for 21km and got 2 bananas and a bottle of mineral water, plus running vest and pewter medal, oh nice! (note the sarcasm)
  5. Unsafe parking area - Mister and I parked our car the provided by the organizer (tapak pasar malam) that guarded by RELA and to our shock there were more than 5 cars got broken that day at the parking area where we parked our car. Hairan kan, ada RELA jaga tapi still incident like this happened. Make me worry since I have 2-3 running events in Putrajaya in near future.
Despite all the flaws, I still enjoy the run because of the beautiful morning scenery of Putrajaya (especially the bridge). Last time I ran here was during Makna Founder Night Run where I was focus on not stumble upon something on the road since I have a very poor night sight, hehehe..

Will I join this event next year or in future? Errr, I don't know yet but I might not. We will see that when the time come..Ngehehe! Okay, I am done ranting about this events and need to focus to my upcoming 4th half marathon (*winking).

Have a nice day ahead everyone!

Malaysia Women Marathon 2015: 21Km Finisher

I participated in the Malaysian Women Marathon on 8th March 2015 and this time I went for the Half Marathon which is my 2nd Half Marathon. I hope to beat up my 1st half marathon times which was over 3 hours and surprisingly I managed to reach the finish line faster than my last half marathon, yay! ITBS occurred after 15km and onwards but not as severe as my 1st half marathon because I still able to slowly run and sprinted 200 meters to the finish line, hahaha! Happy? Yeah, I am indeed! Siapa pun mesti gembira kan kalau dapat capai target (*smile).

As always my only method of training is my 2-3 times, 30 minutes to 1 hour jogging before fetching my daughter from school or during weekend and I never really try LSD training. My longest distance while jogging is 6-8 Kilometers depending on my mood and tummy, LOL! Siapa juga buli lari kalau tu perut bergedang minta isi kan, hehehe. However, I do yoga on daily basis though I only practice easy and beginner  pose especially those that related to curing and strengthening the ITBS.

Okay, enough with my insignificant training method, errr it's not even a training actually kan. Kalau suka-suka seja ikut lari-lari mo kumpul medal memang teda hati mo buat proper training kali, eh kah it's just me, wakaka! Well, overall the event was a successful one ( to me) despite of few flaw here and there but nothing is perfect. I have a great and fun time during the run but I wish that my friends can join me next year (*finger crossed). Yeah, I will definitely run again in this event next year!

Sharing here few shots of me from the day of the event and also the official result (mine) and pics taken at MWM photo booth at the race-kit collection venue:-

Larian Hijau SJ 2014

Wanna to post  about this before it become too stale. Ngehehehe! Kamu heran ka, teda angin teda ribut tiba-tiba seja buang tabiat joined aktiviti lari-lari ni..

Actually joining a run or marathon is in my to do list this year so I registered myself for this run as a training beside to familiar myself with long distance run before I join a marathon (half/full - *finger crossed).

Last time I joined a long distance run was like 12 years ago and it was 5km or 7km distance so 10Km Larian Hijau SJ 2014 on 28th September considered my 1st 10Km run.

With not much training beside the occasionally jog for 20-30 min around my apartment area, I managed to finish the 10km distance  in 1 hour 5 min! Yeah yeah, I  am very proud of myself! Later it was confirmed that the actual distance is 11.9km. No wonder saya rasa macam tidak pandai sampai-sampai. Rupa-rupanya lebih daripada 10km @_@

Actually I almost gave up and thought of quitting due to IBTS (Iliotibial band syndrome) on my left leg but I told myself that I can do it, that I can make it to the finish line and I did it, though I merely walking after  7km distance. Kaki rasa mau tercabut tapi puas hati sebab sampai juga garis penamat lol!

Before you start wondering, yep teda gambar gigit medal sebab finisher medal only for top 20 seja. It's okay since I have 2 more upcoming running event this year and of course end of this 2 event I will definitely snap pic of me biting the finisher medal hokey (LOL). But seriously, I never really aim for the medal or the prize. My intention of joining this kind of event is merely because I want to do something that I never think I can do, beside completing my 1001 things to-do list(*winking).

Okay, I am done with this stale story. Thanks for reading!

Never Say Never

Amaran! Kalau kamu jenis yang cepat muntah, bagus kasi sedia plastik kio..hehehe

I know it's late and I should be off to bed now since I need to wake up early yet I couldn't stop myself from updating about this small achievement. Errr, macam minta puji ja kan LOL!

Yep, I am still 'in love' with yoga and honestly it's part of my daily routine nowadays. No matter how lazy I am, I will still doing my 5-10 reps sun salutation daily. I normally practice the basic poses yet sometimes I do try those intermediate pose.

One of pose that I tried and failed countless time is the one-legged king pigeon pose due to my stiff shoulder. I thought it's impossible and I will never able to rotate my hands but I was wrong because by practising now I am able to grab my toes and rotate my hand, yay!! Sikit ja progress tapi itu perasaan gembira sampai tahap super suda.

One-legged King Pigeon Pose (Right Hand)
One-Legged King Pigeon Pose (Left Hand)
Still a long long journey for me but I am going to appreciate and enjoy every single moments because I find my healing & calming mantra through yoga. Oh ya, prayers to the Almighty God is number 1 tho :)

Learning yoga through vids posted online is fun and money saver but I really hope in near future I will able to attend classes and learn more about yoga  (*finger crossed)

Ok itu seja cerita mikirayou tengah malam buta. Sekian!

A Bit Of Everything

Hello everyone!

It's 2nd September already and I am taking this free hours of mine to update what's going on in my life (as if you care kan..ahaha) for the past 7 weeks.. Hurmmm, honestly not much happened tho but more baking and yoga..haha!

Let me begin my cerita basi with my fasting experience this year. Honest to say, I skipped many days  because of my gastric problem and also because of my high blood pressure that caused me to feel dizzy when my body lacking of water. Meaning I need water and fasting means I can't drink and my body cannot tolerate it. However I am really proud of my sons for completing their fasting month without fuss and I also applause for my daughter for her effort to fast (*smile).

Every  year for Hari Raya, I will buy 'kuih raya' from the shops, friends or my in law family but this year, instead of buying it, I planned to make it myself and walla, I managed to make 6 types of Raya cookies for my kiddos and also for their friend.

As for yoga, I am still practicing the beginner pose and trying out few advance pose in between. Improvement? Yeah, I am improving little by little, day by day but importantly yoga make me feel good about my body with all of those intense stretching and it also clear up my mind and chase away the stress. Compared with my other blogger friends, I am still far behind them yet I am in no rush because I want to do it at my own pace.

For more story, let the picture tell you more.. Errr, ketara betul malas kan, wakaka!

Baking And Yoga

July is here again, marked the beginning of 2nd half of year 2013. As I am writing this post, I am still a bit sad and  mad over certain incident because I couldn't believe that I am still able being kind and foolish at the same time for giving chances to person that I think won't able to change for better, ever (*sigh).. Well, I will get over it soon, as always..

For the past few months, major changes had happened in my life. I started to look at my life from different perspective and doing things that I never think I can do before. For examples, baking (*wink2). Yeah, at the moment I am so engrossed with this new activity of mine and I never thought that baking is so much fun especially when the intention is for my kids big appetites. Yep, my kids might look skinny like their mom (ok, silakan muntah dalam plastik..ahaha!) but believe me if I said they ate quite a lots!! My 2nd son paling kuat makan!  So far I had tried 4 recipes; Oreo cheesecake (baked), blueberry muffins, Chocolate cupcakes and vanila with chocolate chips cupcakes and I am eager to try many more.. Well, berangan konon mau buat kuih raya sendiri juga but we will see la..ahaha!

Beside that, doing yoga is one of my free time activity nowadays! Jangkitan berantai dari sis Wyne ni..ahaha! Honestly yoga seem easy-peasy but try it and you know it's not as easy as it look especially for person like me yang tulang karas! It's fun doing it and call me crazy because I even do it in my office in my working attire.. nasib baik lone ranger dalam office jadi tidak kisah la kalau nampak santut pun..wakaka!

The not so perfect camel pose - my fave pose but still unable to do it properly - Ewwww, tapak kakiku hitam banget!!
 That's a sneak-peek of my ordinary life :)

Until next post, Happy Friday & Happy Weekend In advance..Peace!

Note : I am not PRO with both activity so no mean critics allowed ok :P

Sorority Life Games & Me

Yep, I am Sorority Life active player and I am addicted to this games since I first registered with Facebook. That's 2 years ago and I am still loyal to this games though there are lots of games available there. I have tried playing all of those games but nothing can take away my loyalty to Sorority Life.

My profile in SL =P

Why I like to play this games? Actually I don't really have any particular reason but maybe it's all because I can buy and dress up "me" in that games with all the pretty/glamorous attire/clothing in this games, one thing that I couldn't afford in real world. During my childhood years, I used to play with my hand-made paper doll because my parent couldn't afford to buy doll, you know like barbie doll etc. You see it's seem like I want to appease the childhood dream of mine. Plus, I love all the fashion in this games!

Will I keep on playing it? Yes, why not as long as it is free to play of course!
Why not playing Farmville? I did played it but I quit because I feel so bored waiting the crops ripe for harvesting plus I know the hardness of being a farmer in real life and I don't think I want to experience it in virtual world too. Did I just whined?

My hubby once said, " You are 29 years old for  god sake! Yet you play those games of a child"
"I don't see any age limit that prohibit me from playing it," I depended myself. I don't think I should stop playing games I enjoyed just because people think it's for kid. We can keep doing something we like as long as it not illegal and not interfering our other priority. Moreover, there always a "kid" n every single person..

I think sorority life games is better than games such as casino city (which might lure people to gamble), mafia wars and vampire wars (because I hate violence and war). Ya, I know that there are still fight element in sorority life but it all done with fashion competition (in virtual world). However, to me as long you enjoy playing it, you can keep playing it but just don't apply the action in real life okay!

Need to resume working now, so until next rants, have a nice day & enjoy you games of choice in FB or anywhere else. Peace No War! (^_^) v

Newspaper From Year of 1953

My sight is no longer blurry since I got my supplies of contact lenses yesterday after work-hour. I stock up to 6 pairs of contact lenses to avoid any trouble and I also ordered a new pair of spectacles just in case something like yesterday incident happened.
For today I just wanna shared about this old newspaper that my mother in law got from one of her relatives/friend which is in fact look like a relic to me. I don't know exactly which news company owned it because the front page is totally damaged but from my research via online, I think it was special edition which is for the coronation ceremony of Queen Elizabeth II, the mother of Prince Charles on year 1953.

My mother in law said she had the newspaper for quite sometimes but she forgot about it and only remember about it when she found it among her loads of antique stuff in the storeroom while cleaning up the storeroom. She have to throw away some of her collection to make room for her new entry of collection. Can you imagine how many collection she have? I wish that my camera have not out of battery that particular moment so that I can snap a pic of the storeroom and share with you all, so that you will not call me bluffing.

Though the newspaper is 58 years old (based on the year of published), it's still in good condition. Besides the damaged front page, the other pages is remarkably good. However, you have to be very careful in handling it because it can easily torn apart. My hubby did tear apart a page or two due to rough handling that caused my mother in law cried out saying, "Ehhh..Pelan-pelan selak, nanti koyak!"

Some of the advertisement in this old newspaper caught my attention especially about the sewing machine from SINGER because back at my hometown, my grandparent did  have one just like one in the advertisement! Gosh, I never thought that sewing machine was that old. I wonder whether they still keep that sewing machine..

There are lots of fascinating articles in that old newspaper and several pages also mentioned about the coronation ceremony of Queen Elizabeth II at the Westminster Abbey.. I took sometimes to read that newspaper because I feel intrigued by its content.

Okay, here is some of the pic my hubby snap few days after the discovery of the old newspaper.

This page is about the scenery inside the Westminster Abbey On the Coronation day
I hit the google search button with above title
This page is about the Royal Consort

Dunlop is that old indeed?

Can you guess what is the "thing" above? hehehe..

The sewing machine 3rd from the left is same as my grandparent sewing machine back at Ranau

Article about the Crown Jewel & Regalia

Guess who was that little boy in above stamp? That's was Prince Charles!

READ BOOKS, THEY ARE GOOD FOR US.

I am book lover. It's sound funny but i do love book as much as i love my work..
When I start reading I won't sleep, not until I finish reading the book. Once I start reading, nothing can't stop except for attending my kids need.

Before i was introduced to online website that enable me to download a book/novel/etc. I bought my reading material from local bookstore such as MPH and POPULAR. Since I get to know  website such as Wattpad, 4Shared etc. I prefer to download it from those website. However for my hard copy collection I still buy some of it from the bookstore.

Reading the downloaded copy and reading the hard copy is two different experience but i like either of it as long as i can read as  many as i can. Well reading the hard copy one will definitely save energy a lot because it won't need us to switch on our computer and we can bring it anywhere we want. However when i am out of budget to buy one, i will surf through the web and download it from there.

Reading is one of my way to release my tension. My hubby found it weird and funny but I do find my peace in reading.I have no preference in my reading material. I can read fictional, non-fictional, science, art, magazine etc as long as it can give me information and satisfaction.. However I love reading romance novel. My favorite author is Julie Garwood, Sidney Sheldon, Agatha Christie, Sara Craven, Lynne Graham, Judith McNaught, L.J.Smith and many more..

I also like classic book such Jane Eyre, Bronte' Sister, Wuthering Height, Pride and Prejudice, Sense And Sensibility, Macbeth, Romeo and Juliet etc.. I have a very long list!

I am trying to plant my reading enthusiasm in my kids and I am very proud of myself because so far all of my kids show their interest in books. I really hope they won't follow their father dislike in books. My hubby never show interest in reading material other than entertainment and sports magazine and also newspaper. But I think it's better than nothing.

People who do not read tend to miss a lot of useful information, idea, knowledge, alertness etc. In fact, they will miss a lot of things.. No wonder person like Paris Hilton who admitted that she never read don't know anything about life but her own life.. Following link noted down few tips for those who want to learn to love reading;

How to Love Reading

I know how hard to educate our kids to love books because me too having the same problem. I have search through the net and found some useful tips for mother and father out there who want their kids love reading:

Reading Tips ( By Reach Out And Read National Center )
1) Make Reading Part of Every Day - Read at bedtime or on the bus.
2) Have Fun - Children who love books learn to read. Books can be part of special time with your child.
3) A Few Minutes is OK - Young children can only sit for a few minutes for a story, but as they grow, they will sit longer.
4) Talk About the Pictures - You do not have to read the book to tell a story.
5) Let Your Child Turn the Pages - Babies need board books and help to turn pages, but your three year-old can do it alone.
6) Show Your Child the Cover Page - Explain what the story is about.
7) Show Your Child the Words - Run your finger along the words as you read them.
8) Make the Story Come Alive - Create voices for the story characters and use your body to tell the story.
9) Ask Questions About the Story - What do think will happen next? What is this?
10) Let Your Child Ask Questions About the Story - Use the story as an opportunity to engage in conversation and to talk about familiar activities and objects.
11) Let your Child Tell the Story - Children as young as three years old can memorize a story and many children love an opportunity to express their creativity.

READING QUOTES :-
Books are the legacies that a great genius leaves to
mankind, which are delivered down from generation to
generation as presents to the posterity of those who are yet unborn,
~ Joseph Addison  ~

A room without books is like a body without a soul.
~ Marcus T. Cicero ~

When I look back, I am so impressed again
with the life-giving power of literature.
If I were a young person today, trying to gain a sense of
myself in the world, I would do that again by reading,
just as I did when I was young.
~ Maya Angelou ~

Read not to contradict and confute; nor to believe and take for granted;
nor to find talk and discourse; but to weigh and consider.
Some books are to be tasted, others to be swallowed,
and some few to be chewed and digested:
that is, some books are to be read only in parts,
others to be read, but not curiously, and some few
to be read wholly, and with diligence and attention.
